Background
Unitas Global is a leading cloud solution provider that builds custom, highly secure cloud-based IT environments that are easy-to-consume, fully managed and backed by an end-to-end SLA. They are headquartered in Los Angeles, with clients and locations spanning the globe.
The Challenge
Unitas Global found that they needed ISO27001 and SOC2 certifications in a relatively short period of time. CDG assessed where Unitas was in its approach to cybersecurity from an administrative and technical perspective. After determining areas of improvement, a strategy was put into place which allowed Unitas to strengthen people, process, and technology without disruption to the business.
Unitas grew exponentially during the time that CDG was preparing and learning about the environment, which created a challenge around understanding where assets were located and who was responsible for them, as well as how to properly report compliance to the various stakeholders. As Unitas is an agile startup with enterprise customers, a strong knowledge of business process was required to ensure that the necessary changes and program implementation had as little impact as possible on critical business functions.
The Solution
Cyber Defense Group ensured all policies and procedures were created, which not only met the requirements for these two stringent security standards but also ensured proper cybersecurity throughout the organization.
Unitas is now able to securely support their clients’ missions, while confidently and securely exploring new areas of revenue generation.
- Two major compliance standards passed in one year: SOC2 and ISO27001
- Maturity of the internal ISMS from ad-hoc to managed
After working with Unitas for several years, and assisting them in creating and managing their ISMS, CDG has handed over the environment to qualified internal employees who are now responsible for security. CDG will maintain a high-level strategic advisory role for the company.
