Cyber Defense Group is seeking a Technical Program Manager – Security to own the tactical execution of technical security milestones for our clients. This includes implementation, enablement and on-boarding, as well as some aspects of training and support.

The Technical Program Manager – Security will serve as our frontline technical expert for our diverse client base, working closely with our vCISOs to ensure that execution is aligned with strategy and pledged client objectives. The Technical Program Manager must be strategically minded but very hands-on with security technology, bringing a strong blend of technical acumen and customer service skills to our team.

This is a hybrid position, our team is located in Los Angeles and will eventually return to the office post-pandemic.


  • 3-5 years experience in a technical client-facing role
  • Ability to manage multiple work-streams in siloed verticals
  • Must have a base technical security knowledge (solid grasp of Owasp top 10 at a minimum)
  • Good interpersonal skills, ability to put clients at ease and understand their frustrations and needs.
  • Proven experience with report creation
  • Ability to be a self directed resource and run with limited direct oversight
  • Ability to converse about technical matters with non technical people
  • Ability to identify cyber security risk and come up with risk treatment plans and remediation advice
  • Experience taking copious notes and tracking tasks in an independent work environment
  • Overcome client inaction and roadblocks to continue moving projects forward
  • Conduct research, calls, meetings, and conference calls with clients and delivery teams
  • Clarify issues and ensure delivery teams receive the appropriate support for completion of tasks



  • Consulting experience (ideally security consulting)
  • Liaise with Executive Management to make decisions involving client success functions.
